Bloody typical- I've been out for my first ride on the 900ss (been working away) and it's running ****.

Unrideable below 4500 revs, won't take any load at all, just pops & bangs &...

Bloody awful (IMHO...)

Underseat exhausts are a naff fashion gimmick & hoplessly compromised. The look good on 916s, KTM Dukes but NOTHING else. Underseats will be consigned to history soon enough, when every Jap factory...

Any synthetic oil will do...

...as long as the spec is correct & it's from a reputable manufacturer. The difference between £20 & £40 for four litres is probably minimal compared to warming it up for an extra minute and not...

I find it EXTREMELY unlikely...

...that Duc oil filters are created from solid billet by master craftsmen in a workshop somewhere by an Italian lake.

Much more likely, they are built in exactly the same factory as a Kwik Fit one...

Oil filters? + Shazaam on oil

Could anyone tell us which car oil filters can be used on an SS? I'll do anything to save a few quid...

I promise to put all this stuff on a thread entitled 'SS FAQ' when I have time!

Belts obtained!

From cornerspeed- £29, very reasonable.

Demon Tweeks catalogue

has a belly pan listed for £95; there's a pic of one fitted to a Monster 620 or 750 (wet clutch one, anyway) and it looks ok, though the SS one could be a totally different design!

It looks great!

Pity about the headlight- it does seem like a difficult bit to get right.

Of course, the SuperMono was styled by Terblanche before he did the SSie, so maybe an SS style single headlight would look...

Great stuff...

I wish there was as much info available for Moto Morinis.

Four days till I get the bike!

:sing::sing:

I'm going to stay up every night till then- mainly 'cos I work nights at E. Mids airport.

Thanks for the info...

...and for being patient with me!

Now, where can I find a step-by-step procedure for checking/adjusting desmo valvegear? Don't worry, I'm an aircraft engineer so I'm confident I can...

Thanks for the info so far!

I'll be picking up the bike (900ssie) in a couple of weeks, so:

Buxton

Is the lad from Buxton with the silver MS a member here? I was talking to you at M/cr Ducati last week.

Get in touch if you want to go for a rideout- I've just got a 900ss

Does anyone do a belly pan for the 1/2 faired ie? I don't want something to convert it to FF, just a belly pan in black...
something that extends to the back wheel, as per 999. If there's...
