Oil Consumption and oil recomendations

As soon as i got the S4 i did an oil and filter change, used the recommeded Shell Ultra 4. Now after 1300 miles its down to the lower level in the oil window. There are no oil leaks any ideas??...

Its an S4 so 916 engine. I rode it back from Wrexham last night (60 odd miles) Feels really smooth as does the gearbox. Not as much punch as my 996 but i do love the riding postion.

I gotta say i really enjoyed the experience, wasnt as smooth as my 996 but i did like the riding style.
May have a change of bike style for this summer.
