I was driving back from the gym tonight, along the A316 doing a steady 50mph when something happened that made me crap myself!
A bit of pre-requisite info: I need to wear glasses when I'm reading or using a VDU and I just can't see things that are right in my face.
So, I'm driving along and what should happen but a bloody spider dropped down in front of my face - an inch from my nose dangling on it's web
It was only one of those daddy long legs (not sure if you call them that here but essentially a large but very skinny spider with a small abdomen, light brown in colour and essentially harmless). I remind you that it was so close to my face that it was really a bit of a blur so all I could make out was that it was a spider!! Having grown up in Oz reflexes tend to kick in when it comes to this sort of thing! We have a few nasty ones and I've had a few run-ins with them as a kid!
So - be careful out there!
