Very true, Sheehan and Entwistle are good. But turn the old soundcard up and listen to
THIS if you want to hear a bass maestro. It's Jeff Berlin, one of my favourite all time bass players. A bit too jazzy for this listing, but he has played and jammed along live on stage with the likes of Van Halen - hey, when you can play like this you can play anything.
I like Heavy Rock, but more of the old school Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Sabbath type stuff that were big when I were a lad. Lucky enough to have seen em all live. Funnily enough though the two LOUDEST bands I've ever seen were Wishbone Ash who came a close second to XTC. Several orders of magnitude louder than any metal band I've seen
