I can get an application which will allow me to calculate what jets the TZ needs from the pressure/temp/humidity readings my weather station gives-but-it runs on a palm. Since I already have a laptop, Psion Series 5MX, and a PocketPC palmpilot I am a bit reluctant to buy yet another handheld device.

John if you have the calc then it should be easy enough to knock up either an excel front menu or a smallish vb app. Post the formula?
I'm sure some of the other techies on here should have knowledge on other applications that could do the job.
I put a couple of pda apps on my daughters login and they worked kind-of OK, but did tend to lock up from time to time.
