| My old 1998 916 has done around 30,000 miles, the use has been track days blasts to assen commuting. At the last service I had the cams pulled and the rockers and cams were perfect only a couple of shims needed replacement and the compresion was the same as at the 500 mile service.
I have a major service (inc belts every year and only use top quality oil. the only wear you notice when riding it is a slight clonk over bumps which is the fork bushes.
If the botom end goes next week I would still think the engine had lasted well.
