No expert by far, Nick, but I've successfully used:
[list=1][*]CD ROM burner[*]Ordinary CD-R blanks[*]Photo to VCD Software downloaded from
www.nu2.nu/PhotoVcd[/list=1]
Pretty straightforward. Played fne in several DVD players, even some that didn't say the would play VCDs.
