| It was! The old BAOR (British Army of the Rhine) used to slot in with local german rally clubs and do various rallies with them.
The group that ran the ring was always a very popular event. We used to run it one way at the start of the event, then in reverse at the end, usually just as dawn was breaking.
Sadly by that time you were usually so knackered, or the car was, that you just limped round. That said it still scared me witless!
