Are there any entries in the Event Log showing errors?
I'm unclear as to why you'd want to remove it too? If you're having issues with a 3rd party backup app then in my experience it's unlikely that the error is coming from NTBackup and some sort of conflict. If you're having issues with NTBackup however I suspect that managing to uninstall it altogether would pose a bigger problem!!
