| One thing mentioned at the AGM was the possible perception of secrets being kept from the non-participating members.
This isn't the case... most things can't be made public until they're set in stone, you'll probably understand why once they're announced. And they're not set in stone until everyone agrees, and in many cases this agreement needs to be made with the participants which is why they get to know first.
