| I stayed at the manor house in a place called West Pentire near Newquay and there was a campsite that looked good just down the road. I told my mate at work that I'd been to West Pentire, turned out that he'd stayed in the camp site with his missus and kids several times and thought it was a good place.
Big wide sandy beach (fairly shallow water quite a way out from what I remember) is about 100 yds, as is a pub called 'The Bowgie' which as I recall is where I spent a lot of time...that's on the way to the beach so if you feel thirsty after a 100 yards, it's a good place to stop.
I think my youngest was about 7 at the time (Jeeeez, that makes it 14 years ago, seems like only 3 or 4), and there's plenty of stuff to do in Cornwall for nippers if you're prepared for a half hour to an hour ride in the car to go somewhere. |
