Forget about trying to justify your choice to anyone else, buying a Duke is about being selfish and not bothering about what anyone else thinks, A mate once called a mono seat duke a " selfish mans bike" maybe that sums it up.
The 998 series have the same engines as the 999 series with only a few tweaks on specific models. Just choose the bodywork you like.
