I generally race with contacts, but have also tried with glasses. Couldn't race at all with glasses. The problem was that the temples are tight between your cheeks and the helmet padding. When you move in and out of the bubble, the helmet moves up and down, and so do your glasses. A huge distraction! Maybe you could cut some foam from the padding to aleviate this to some extent, but I couldn't be bothered. The only problem I had with contacts was the constant air draft to my eyes, tended to make my eyes water significantly. I did loose a contact lens during a race, but still finished. A new helmet completely cured that problem, though. Definitely contacts for me. |
