Sump plug washer should be copper in which case it can be re-used if annealed first.
Clean washer thoroughly with petrol, and when dry, heat to cherry red - I use the cooker - when cherry red, dump it straight into cold water, dry off and it can be used again and again.
I would only suggest this if you no have a new washer by the way......
