You do need a lower chain guard.
Something like this :

I've got that one sorted, but do I need a guard above the chain was the question?

The monster's chain guard is fitted as part of the hugger, can I remove the hugger and chain guard, or do I need both??

I'm gonna fire a question off to desmodue@ducatisportingclub.com I reckon - I'll post the response.
