Who's choice is that? You go ahead and enjoy it Nick, I envy you for doing it but if it's gonna detract from me doing everything else count me out.
As for having the pleasure of club activity I get that EVERY weekend in the form of Berks/Kent, Hant, Sussex and Surrey regional meets and ride outs, as well as the 3 or 4 track days I can squeeze in through the year (good luck Gary and Catherine, I'll be supporting your business venture as a customer) with fellow DSC members and the occasional ride out to see other DSC members on their trackdays.

I'm sure you will get plenty of willing spectators but I'd rather put £12 towards a day riding my own bike round the shires than watching somebody else ride theirs, I'm usually not interested in attending race meetings and I was only interested in this (and the few club meets I've been to in the past) because it is some of my mates doing it and I might have wanted to do it next year.
