Don't forget that if you are doing away with the speedo drive you can yank that drive plate out of the left hand side of the bearing housing, another few grams saved
Just grab one of the drive legs with a pair of pliers and pull it out.
Got a feeling there is going to be a glut of speedo drives on Ebay shortly.
