When I got my 996s a few years back Trevor Franklin had one on a long term test when he wrote for performance bike. He set the suspension up to suit his weight which is near enough the same as mine. I copied his settings exactly and the bike was 100% better. I will try to find the article (think its with the hundreds of bike and car mags in my loft) I remember it involved raising the rear ride height by quite a bit as I recall if I parked my bike next to another 996 it was noticably higher at the rear. I think he also ended up fitting a different rate spring. I cannot remember the exact settings but I remember my thinking went from being unsure if I had done the right thing buying the bike to knowing I had done the right thing after one good rideout.
