I've got mates (honest) who used to race LC's - single control tyre, all weathers, just like us - who still had two sets of wheels. The theory was that dry use rounded the sharp edges off the tread so the tyre didn't cut through the wet as well; hence they had a pair of dry wheels and a pair of wet wheels with lightly scrubbed rubber. Just proves that in racing someone will always try that little bit harder / exploit their bigger wallet / etc. Just out of interest; how much does a track day in Spain (or wherever) cost, or a session with CSS?!! |
