The ones I've seen on the way back to Calais involved a small "object" on the hard shoulder near one of the gated emergency vechicle exits and a car parked tucked out of sight. The guy in the car was obviously radioing ahead to the cops at the toll booth. The "object" when you got closer was a small tripod with a little box of top but of course by the time you get close enough to actually make it out as a radar your speed has already been noted.

Does anyone know what the situation is these days in France with GPS camera locators? I know that full speed trap dectectors are liable to get you a going over by Monsieur Clouseau and his chums but how about the ones that rely on a camera database?
