| My notes say that they're a direct replacement for 916 series based bikes. Sorry, I was assuming that they are the same as 748R.
Are you SURE you need to replace the bearings? Take the steering stem off the bike and look at the bearings. If they are not pitted or dented thay are most likely fine. Is the preload adjusted properly? I usually adjust them so there is just a little preload. Do the clamps move freely without binding? 1.e. if you lift the front wheel off the ground do you feel a notch while turning the wheel back and forth?
It's just unusual in my experience for a newer bike to require a bearing replacement so soon. |
