| I don't know that going to an "independent" (as I do) isnecessarily cheaper than a main dealer. Their labour rates may be lower, but they they tend to compensate by just doing more stuff that a main dealer wouldn't do. And there's always *something* extra needed.
My last "big" service, which included checking rockers (and replacing one), shimming, and stripping and greasing head-stock bearings, stripping off and cleaning radiator and clutch, came to a little short of 800 quid. |
