If you can escape in more than two directions separted by at least 45 degrees then the travel distance goes up to 45m. You could argue that a church doesnt have a huge fire load so the distances could be relaxed somewhat. The maximum tarvel distance for any type of building (un sprinklered) is 25m in one direction. Buiding regs dont distinguish between doors on exit routes or normal doors any more. 800mm clear width is the minimum you can have. The exit route can go past a boiler but it mustn't emerge near one outside |
