Handbook for my 620 sport says the following: if the code light stays on it means the code (key) has not been recognised. try with another black key. if this does not work contact the Ducati service network! But the book also gives a procedure to disable imobilizer engine block: 1. the credit card thing has two numbers on it; electronic code (which is what we need and is the left hand of the two numbers) and mechanical code. 2. turn the key on and fully open the throttle. keep it open. the warning light turns off after about 8 seconds. release the throttle as soon as the warning light turns off. 3. the light will start flashing. count the number of flashes corresponding to the first digit of the electronic code - open the throttle fully and hold it for two seconds, then release. the warning light should come on for about four seconds. 4. this has entered the first digit of the code. continue in the same way for the remaining digits. 5. if you mess up the light will flash 20 times then stay on. the procedure has been aborted so start again. 6. if you get it right the light will flash after accepting the last digit of the code and and then turn off after about four seconds. {sheesh and i thought tricking the tv in the car to stay on while driving was complicated!!} best of luck |
