Long term, the sad fact is that they ain't making oil any more so the world has just got to get used to eeking out it's dwindling supplies. Especially with China and India's economies stoking up the demand there's a big race on to get first dibs on existing and new reserves with Chinese companies outbidding the likes of Shell and Exxon for some of the Khazakstan fields.
Of course ultimately the world's only superpower and it's gas guzzling habits means that it also has to carry the biggest stick to make sure it gets more than it's fair share |
