DUCK ............ you have been told a load of Bull about the warranty etc. It's just the dealer being awkward for the sake of it. I had a problem with my 2003 749s which is an import. The dealer (who will remain nameless) identified that I needed new ECU and Clocks, but, would not do it under warranty as the Ducati computer showed my bike as being in a crate in Europe and not on the road in the UK. The dealer claimed it was Ducati UK that would not cover the warranty and not the dealer , he was trying to help me ????? I phoned Ducati direct ready to give them a round of f***s on the phone, only to talk with a great guy who could not see what my (or the dealers) problem was. Ducati UK simply said that I had to have the bike PDI'd by an authorised Ducati dealer who would then register it on the Ducati UK computer system. All work after that was sorted under warranty. I did have to pay for the PDI which was about 2 hours labour. Go back to your dealer and at worst case pay for a PDI ... AND NO MORE. If you need any more help from some one who has been through the same please let me know. |
