Jasper, try the following:
On the top bar: Edit> Preferences > Page display.
Then in that menu click on
Logical Page Display until the tick is removed.
Then try. I can't guarantee it will work though, I've not used it.
I always shove files together by page before and after first/last and it always works then as the page number are as is.
