Thanks Chris,

Something that I have learnt this year is that you can’t please all the people all of the time, and certainly when looking at rules for racing there is no hope!

I should point out that I am not on the Racing Committee, which is made up of Monty, Chris and MW. Their process is to reach democratic decisions based on what is in the interest of the riders and the club. My understanding is that there are tweaks of the rules going on to try and please as many people as possible, - we will never please everybody! It is a very difficult thing to balance rider power with other outside responsibilities and factors. Most if not all other race series have rules published and riders decide at the point if they are going to join. There will be decisions made that some people will not like, I cannot think of a solution to that.

There are times when I think that we should take a firmer line on DD rules to give the riders a clearer picture, but when we do that we are criticized for being dictatorial or autocratic, it really is a no win situation and given that we are a club made up of volunteers who do have limited time I think the RC do extremely well.
