Depedns on what you are going to use it for.

If you want comparable performance likely a 998 of some description is the way to go. Maybe more money though.

I have a mate with a 2001 Blade. Perhaps not a 100% comparison because of the age difference. However,
With modified chain sprockets configuration (14/38), in terms of acceleration the 2 bikes are actually evenly matched.
On the track The duke really is better in the bends, holds a better line.

Last time, there were some other 748's running and they seem to lack the oomph. it was also a short track of about 2km's.
