Just loaded your site with a more critical eye - first thing that comes to mind is that the first page a search engine spider will come to is the intro, which has very little content if you look at the page source in the browser. There are no links frmo that page into the rest of your site, and the spider will not be able to click on the flash movie because it dones't see things like that (Flash is bad for search engines, as are frames). You should definately include a series of text links along the bottom (not hidden, but can be discrete) to provide a way for the spider software to get in. I don't use flash, but I tihnk you might be able to include a "noflash" section to the page for browsers that do not see it, in the same way you provide a "noframes" section in a frameset that is visible if you cannot see frames. Search Engines will drop into those sections, and it is a legit way of providing a text intro and links to the rest of your site. Also, use a good block of "alt text" on images and the flash object (or "title text" if alt is not applicable on flash) to provide a text description loaded with your keywords. Hope that helps. U2U me if you want to ask anything, I'll try to help. [Edited on 21-12-2005 by HW] [Edited on 21-12-2005 by HW] |
