I had this prob on my 748s to when i had it, and used to squeeze tank more with knees to stop the usual nut crushing
Trouble is this meant i pushed tank forwards then so much so the steering damper wore a groove in paint on tank
Was reaplaced under warranty and was basically told the little hook at front of tank bends easily and the best way to deal with it was to brace your arms and it stopped after:P
