If you want looks as well as function you can go for a bling upmarket cylinder. STM are lovely bits of kit but people like Cornerspeed, Tecmoto, JHP and lots of German companies on eBay all do the same sort of thing.

Most of the aftermarket cylinders will also promise a lighter clutch action. They do this by having a greater bore, obviously this means that for a given volume of hydraulic fluid that's pumped from the master cylinder the stroke of the slave piston will be reduced so they need some pretty careful bleeding through if they're going to move the clutch plates far enough apart.

In my case I tried an STM cylinder but it was clear that the master cylinder on my bike was never going to pump enough fluid to prise the clutch plates fully apart and it dragged like hell. After one trip to Melton Mowbray and back I gave up and sold it to KeefyB who put it onto one of his bikes. I got a 30mm one which was too much (works well on a Multistrada or 999) could have been better off with a 28mm one.

What I ended up with was the upgraded slave cylinder from Ducati - the one that looks like it's got a big Torx headed bolt in the centre. Much better made than the earlier ones and not prone to leakage.
