What you mean by split link , C type or SOFT link , most peeps use a SOFT link that needs a chain rivet tool , where are you there are plenty of tools about if you need a lend of one
I would not use a C type link only a Soft link , i have a chain tool if you are near Northern Ireland and want to borrow it
