Basically my old engine spec is as follows... Gas flowed heads (Mez Porting) FCR carbs (39mm) Big bore kit (944 cm3) High comp pistons Dual oil cooler (Baines mod) Lightened flywheel It goes OK, but the plugs keep fouling so it needs a rebore and new rings, but it's as large as it goes. So as a minimum I would need two "new" cyclinder blocks which would need reboring. The reasons to change are mainly that I want an engine with less hassle but still with character and plenty of get up and go....and as I already have a Multistrada I know that the 1000DS engine would fit the bill. |
