Not being English I wouldn't know about who claims what flag as their symbol. But then, that sort of thing has happened through out history (think swastika). I'm sure most, if not all of the people flying the St. George flag do so out of a sense of national pride, and to support the football team, so they shouldn't have to constantly apologise for feeling a sense of pride in their country/team. Why anyone would take offense is beyond me. It is the flag of England after all. |
