| South side is a bit iffy as you come in. I usually come in off the 280 because there is a flyover that comes up and round that almost makes you feel you're flying and gives you a great view of the downtown area.
That brings you out on 8th street or 7th street from memory and the bit between there and market street is pretty run down, but anything north of market street seems fine to me.
As Dickie says there is a Holiday Inn and I think a Hyatt down by Fishermans wharf and there is nothing wrong with that area.
San Francisco is just about one of the only cities that I feel quite safe in...unlike LA which is the pits IMHO |
