Do any of you suffer from fuel leaks from the QR connectors? I've just spent the whole of last Saturday trying to stop a leak from the white connector under the tank. I tried changing the o-ring three times (thanks to Nelly for the supply) (yes, I did lubricate them before assembly), all to no avail. In the end I removed the pump assembly from the tank, then removed the connector from the assembly and re-assembled it having sealed the thread. The connector bases are b****rds to remove - no std spanner will fit and I had to make a special tool. Having re-assembled everything (the assembly is a b**ch to re-fit to the tank with the giant o-ring) the leak is no more. I guess I shall never know whether re-seating the base fixed it or whether it was the o-ring in the connector all the time and I was just lucky when I re-assembled it. I'm now left with a vertical pot, cam covers, inspection ports etc that are covered in fuel residue stains. Antonye - how much do the connectors cost? How does one fit the floating end to the fuel pipe? It looks like a special tool job... |
