| The 998r is bigger bore and shorter stroke, gives a massive 3 bhp more, don't know what the effect is on Torque. The seat unit is different, no vents on the 8r and I'm not sure but the 6r seat unit might not be carbon.
Both are great bikes, the 996r was the last to win the WSB championship, the 8r was the highest spec enginewise of the line.
Ducati.com still has info. about these two bikes and still allows the comparison to be made spec wise.
