| As I lack some of the skilll of you younger guys I have to look at getting the bike to do most of the work for me which in part means changing the gearing to suit my style to the track
Oulton, I started with 15/42 and then changed to 15/43....lots better
Castle Combe....15/41
Brands 15/42 (dry) 15/43 (wet)
Cadwell same as Brands 15/42 in the dry
Donington dry I would use 15/42 as per Cadwell and Brands
Castle Combe has no hills to speak of so will pull the higher gearing
It wasn't the hill at Oulton that made me lower the gearing, it was places like Lakeside where I found I was holding it in fourth and over reving rather than hooking 5th for a few seconds in the first race, in the second race with the lower gearing I made far more use of 5th gear
