Do you really think you need to spend much on your 583 Lucie? Chances are it'll be fine with new belts and valve clearances done, a bit of piston slap when cold is perfectly normal on the older 583 engines, and the bottom ends are pretty solid and don't tend to wear out. If it was me I'd fit new belts and let nelly set the valve clearances, spend no more on it than that apart from oil and filter change, and keep on using that for now. If it should go bang for any reason, switch to the 620 for the rest of the season! |
