Surely if the rules were adhered to by the police, there would be no loopholes? Doesn't the smart arse point to prove high profile lawyer rely on exactly that for his cases?
Note - this is absolutely not a personal attack on any police that my be present here. Merely to point out that both sides have rules to follow.
