I remember seeing a product in a bike magazine years ago that changed the colour of plastic lenses to black. When the light came on, it would appear as the original colour.

I think the preparation involved dumping a sachet of powder into some hot water and dipping the lens into it.

Does anyone know of this product and whether it is still available, or if there is an alternative.
