Just got 2003/4 tax year straight, waited 2 years for the rebate to come through, got the cheque the middle of last week. The day after said cheque arrived Mrs Ains. is driving to work and some dumbass drove into the side of the car. Very likely to be a write off, and since the car is only worth about 300 quid (but is still a brilliant little car) it looks like I'll be coughing up about the size of the IR cheque for another one.

Not the first time either, I won a photography comp' a few years back. Got a cheque that exactly matched the cost of the new freezer we had to buy coz the other one frazzed itself.
