| Impossible to say what's a good lid for you Mav, the one that fits you best is probably the best. I've found that there ain't no such thing as the 'perfect' lid (although I've only had 3 lids since I started riding again).
Shark RSF - Good fit but heavy and I didn't like the seat belt type strap fastening
Shoei XR1000 - Good fit, lightweight, great ventilation, D-ring strap, pinlock visor, fantastic visor mechanism...but the chinguard pushed back in my face above 100 mph probably needed the bigger cheekpads
Roof R020 - Absolutely perfect fit for my head, amazingly comfy, quietest lid I've ever worn, a little heavier than the Shoei but not by much, ventilation not all that, pretty crude visor mechanism, still pushes back at speed but not as bad as the Shoei.
If I had my perfect lid it would be the Shoei with the Roof fit, comfort and quitness, plus the Shark's refusal to push back into my chops. |
