| I must admit that I've driven quite a few American cars although only Hertz rental cars and nothing particularly special, but they always struck me as being really crude and plastic ridden compared to European and Japanese cars.
Usually had a Ford Taurus or Chevrolet Malibu, but I had a supposedly upmarket Lincoln thing a couple of times - all of them built out of that really nasty cheap hard plastic inside. I used to get given Ford Mustang convertibles a lot as well and I couldn't believe how crude those things are. Look under the bonnet and it's difficult to remember seeing an engine with carbs, and the axle tramp when you slam your foot down....
It's no wonder that the US car industry is struggling |
