Surely the fact that the items are consumables is incidental, given that the failure was caused by a problem of their making? Plates are something of a no-brainer, but where things like the drum is concerned, I would imagine that the issue is also clouded by differentiating the damage caused during the break-up from the genuine wear & tear. Personally, I'd offer to: 1. Pay for the plates (they're making a margin on these, remember!) 2. Pay a tiny percentage of the hub 3. Pay a larger perecentage of the drum 4.
