Pulling the chip on the bike is a simple plug in jobbie. More fidly than a car though, you'll really need a chip puller. The advantage of a chip swap over the PC is the ability to tailor fuelling and ignition. You can't alter ignition on the PC's for Ducati. The money a PC would cost would buy some serious dyno time at JHP, for instance, to get a bespoke eprom burnt for your specific bike. The standard chip usually comes with a plastic anti tamper thingy glued to it. Not difficult to remove, and doesn't usually get replaced once removed. If you got an aftermarket chip in, it'll probably have some id on it such as "Ducati Performance" or "JHP" etc. |
