| Dont think you should worry - my '93 900ss fuel pump makes a fair amount of noise too and still keeps on going. I was going to change the fuel filter on mine but after removing the filler cap and housing and having a poke about inside - I decided against it since everything looked pretty clean.
I guess as long as the noise is consistant (primed) and the bike runs fine otherwise, it sounds ok.
