I tend to swap the plates around on mine when it gets to its last legs. Cleaning out the dust helps as well. Re the clearance to the basket, you will find that the edges of the fingers have notches in them where the friction plates hammer against it. You can dress these out with a file if they are bad. If the notches are a problem you will notice it when letting the clutch out as he plates stick in the notches. Re plates, i replaced my standard steel set with the alloy set from the ST4S. Loads quieter, about the same money and they wont destroy the basket as quickly. I wouldnt have thought that at 10k the basket would need changing. I dont hink you can buy separate friction and driven plates, at least not from Ducati. They come as a set for about £120 i think these days. I just nip the pressure plate bolts up with a allen key set that i use on my mountain bike. Dont need to be very tight. The one time i used a longer bar i namaged to snap one with just the weight of the bar. Luckily managed to get the broken bit out and Nelly let me have some stainless ones so that was nice!! |
