Stovies - Can't beat 'em, used to have them a lot at home in Scotland.

Boil 'em up with a pinch of salt and roughly mash them. Add chopped and fried oinions and either a stock cube or oxo for taste. Then add sausages into the mix and heat. Can be dressed with dried oxo over the top or some grated chedder and black pepper if you fancy. Yummy

Alternatively, Shepherds pie the Scottish way. Instead of minced meat, use corned beef out of a tin. Casserole dish with lightly mashed potato layer on the bottom, then a layer of corned beef, then another of potato and another of corned beef and topped off with potato. Mix up an oxo cube and pour the liquid all over the fluffy potato and stick it in the oven until the top is crispy. Beautiful. An addition to this is a tin of baked beans as a layer and of course you can spice it up with anything from the herb rack.

I've just finished some good old fish 'n' chips from the chippie, but I feel a late supper coming on

PS - nobody mention the Scotland result please
